In the news
The Division of Parks and Outdoors Recreation would like to invite interested parties to apply for the vacant Southeast Representative seat on the Outdoor Recreation and Trails Advisory Board. Duties include assisting the Division by providing a broad spectrum of citizen input on evaluating grant proposals for the Recreational Trail Program grant funds, Alaska Trails Initiative, Land and Water Conservation Fund grants and addressing various other subjects from time to time, including proposals for State Parks land acquisitions. The Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation is seeking membership interest from individuals with special knowledge, experience, and interest in outdoor recreation and grant-funded programs.

If you would like to be considered for appointment on the ORTAB, please submit a letter of interest that describes your professional background and recreational interests including the recreational user group you would represent, i.e.: biking, ATV, Snowmobile, etc,. A current resume is also required. A person should be selected that is representative of the Southeast regional character of Alaska and the diverse user groups enjoying trails and other outdoor recreational facilities.

Please respond to the State Trails Coordinator as soon as possible as this position needs to be filled by the end of January, so the Division can quickly move forward with our Federal grant programs.
