Young earns certification in healthcare management

  Robert Young
Robert Young, the director of professional services for the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium's Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka, has earned a board certification in healthcare management. In addition to being allowed to use the Certified Healthcare Executive title, Young also earned diplomate status from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Young will be honored at the ACHE's convocation ceremony, which is the organization's annual Congress on Healthcare Management. Young will be one of about 6,000 healthcare executives around the country to hold diplomate status.

"In the world of healthcare management, this is a major accomplishment," said Frank Sutton, Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital's vice president of hospital services. "SEARHC's commitment to providing patients with the highest quality of healthcare begins with dedicated employees like Bob."

"It's a means of demonstrating a level of management expertise that's efficient and ethical," Young said. "It's a verification of qualification."

The ACHE provides comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career development, publications, research and public policy.
