At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 1936, a land slide roared down Mt. Roberts near the Juneau Cold Storage, killing 14 people. Up until the slide occurred, the month of November had seen 20.31 inches of rain. On the day of the slide, 3.89 inches of rain had fallen.
