Alaska Pacific Bancshares, Inc. appoints new director, bank hires two loan officers
William A. Corbus, a long-time Juneau businessman, will join the Alaska Pacific Bancshares Board of Directors in January 2008, according to President and CEO Craig E. Dahl. Corbus filled the position vacated by Deborah Marshall, who retired from the board after serving for 17 years.

Corbus brings over 25 years of Alaska banking board experience to the Alaska Pacific board position.

In the past, he served as a member of the Board of Directors for B.M. Behrends Bank in Juneau, Key Bank of Alaska, and First National Bank of Anchorage.

He served as trustee for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation from 2002-2006, a trustee for the Alaska Retirement Management Board for 10 years, and a director for the Alaska Power & Telephone Company for four years.

He has also held a variety of civic positions in Juneau.

Corbus was named president and director of the Alaska Energy and Resources Company in April-a position he also held from 1988-2002.

AERC is the parent of Alaska Electric Light and Power Company, and Corbus holds the position of chairman and director of that company-a position he also held from 1978-1988 and again from 1997-2002.

He served as Commissioner of the Department of Revenue, State of Alaska from December 2002-December 2006.

Corbus holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business Administration.

President and CEO Craig E. Dahl announced that the bank has hired two new loan officers-a mortgage loan officer in Juneau and a loan officer in Ketchikan.

Mandy Massey has been hired as a mortgage loan officer for Alaska Pacific Mortgage, a division of Alaska Pacific Bank.

She will work with local homebuyers to select the right mortgage loan program, and then guide them through the application and approval process. She also works closely with local real estate agents to help their clients get loans processed and approved as quickly as possible. Massey is a life-long resident of Juneau and served as assistant coach and head coach of the JDHS Drill Team from 2001-2004.

Justin Williams was hired as a loan officer in the bank's Ketchikan office.

His responsibilities include consumer lending and business development, and he will be involved in small business lending. Williams is a lifelong Ketchikan resident.

He is a graduate of Washington State University and has a BA in Business Management. Williams has most recently worked at another bank in Ketchikan.
