A workshop will be held Feb. 18-19 with registration begining Jan. 2.
Dr. Kathleen Butler Hopkins, Professor of Violin, Viola and Chamber Music at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, will be in Juneau for the Juneau Jazz & Classics Annual String Workshop. This annual workshop is designed to meet the needs of string players of all ages and levels, from young students to adults. Dr. Butler-Hopkins has performed in major forums in the United States and Europe. She received the UAF College of Liberal Arts Excellence in Teaching Award for 1999, was named 1999 String Teacher of the Year by the Alaska String Teachers Association, and is the 2003 recipient of the prestigious Usibelli Distinguished Service Award.
The workshop will include a variety of options from private lessons, master classes and ensemble coaching. Prices range from $10 to $65. The workshop concludes with a recital by the participants.
