SEARHC pharmacy expects delay for computer upgrade
The SEARHC pharmacy will be undergoing a computer upgrade starting in January and patients will experience minor delays during a conversion process that could last about three months. The delays are expected to start Monday, Jan. 8.

This process will affect the pharmacies in all SEARHC facilities. Waiting times are expected to increase by about five minutes per prescription so the prescription data can be transferred from the old system to the new one. This will result in an increased waiting time of about 50 minutes for someone having 10 prescriptions filled.

The waiting time will grow shorter over the next three months and eventually the process should be faster than SEARHC's current system. Please be patient while the switch is made. Patients can help ease the conversion by calling in refill prescriptions five days before their current medications run out.

For more information, contact the SEARHC pharmacy at 966-8347 in Sitka or 463-4031 in Juneau.
