The Mendenhall Flying Lions Club recently sponsored the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in Juneau. The art contest encourages children worldwide, ages 11-13, to express their vision of world peace with this year's theme, "Imagine Peace." Cagney Ramirez, a student at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School was the local winner. Cagney's art teacher Miah Lager was instrumental in DZ's participation in the contest, which brought in dozens of creative entrants. Cagney was awarded two local gift cards totaling $50 for her winning drawing.
