In light of recent events in Juneau, the state and in Connecticut, which have suffered significant tragedy and loss, community organizations will be hosting a "Night of Hope and Healing" on Dec. 19.
The event seeks to bring the community together and support one another in a time of struggle. People are asked to attend and light candles for those lost, tie messages of love to the tree of hope, and share support and be supported by community members.
The event is hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Juneau Alliance on Mental Health, Inc., the Juneau Suicide Prevention Coalition, the SouthEast Regional Health Consortium, Juneau Youth Services, and the Juneau Public Health Center.
It will be hosted at Norther Light United Church (400 W. 11th Street) from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 19. Food and drink will be provided in the church hall.
