Mendenhall Flying Lions Club Holly Sales through Dec. 21. The annual weekend fundraiser sells a variety of wreaths (variegated, solid green and candle), swags, and bags of holly at the Nugget Mall, while supplies last. All proceeds go to the Lions Club charities.
Haines Holiday Events Dec. 13 include the following: Santa pictures from 1-4 p.m. at the haines Visitor Center; Open House at the Sheldom Museum features Tlingit caroling at 1 p.m., children's ornament making 2-4 p.m. and model trains from 1:30-4:30 p.m.; Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale at ANB/ANS Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Cookies by the Pound bake sale at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; storytime with Mrs. Claus at Haines library at 4 p.m.; Christmas parade at 4:30, line-up begins at Elks Lodge at 4 p.m.; "Gifts for Grub Dinner" at American Legion following parade, 5-7 p.m., $10 or bring an unwrapped new toy for donation.
Live Nativity at Christ Lutheran Church Dec. 12-13 and 19-20 from 6:30-8 p.m. Locatated at 10300 Glacier Hwy, across from the DMV. Drive through the Live Nativity, featuring scenes of the manger, shepherds, wise men and Roman soliders. Park your car, listen to Choir of Angels and come to the Bethlehem Inn for refreshments.
