ANCHORAGE - Alaska village teens who might be too embarrassed to talk about sexual diseases at a local clinic will be able to go online to order condoms or home-testing kits for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is launching a Web site, www.iknowmine.org, to provide information and services.
The Anchorage Daily News reports it's a new way to reach teens in remote locations.
Program coordinator Jessica Leston says the consortium is working with Johns Hopkins University, which will analyze swabs from home-testing kits.
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports the state has had the nation's highest or second-highest rate of chlamydia since 2000.
