ASMI fishing families photo contest

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is seeking Alaska's help to promote our seafood species around the world. ASMI is currently looking for high quality photography showcasing the best of what Alaska has to offer: our people, our beautiful scenery, and our seafood!

ASMI plans to award five Grand Prizes in the following categories:

Best Family Photo

Best Fish Photo

Best Scenic or Boat Photo

Best Action Photo

Best Humor or Historic Photo

Each Grand Prize winner will receive an Apple iPad. In addition, ASMI will award one 1st prize winner in each category and one 2nd prize winner in each category.

Photography plays an important role in ASMI's work overseas and throughout the US. ASMI uses scenic photography to showcase Alaska as the world's premier source of wild seafood. To many of our customers, Alaska is a dream destination, and reinforcing this image is an essential marketing technique. Consumers are equally enthralled with the mystique of Alaska seafood harvesters and fishing families. Through photography on our websites, posters, marketing materials, and even seafood packaging, we can communicate the story of Alaska seafood to consumers around the world. It is ASMI's hope that submissions from the photo contest provide an intimate glimpse of life in the Alaska fishing industry, as well as display the natural beauty of our state.

ASMI is a public-private partnership between the State of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry, established to foster economic development.

ASMI functions as a brand manager of the Alaska Seafood family of brands in 21 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and South America and also maintains a prominent marketing program in the U.S. ASMI works to raise the value of Alaska's seafood product portfolio through partnerships with retail grocers, foodservice distributors, restaurant chains, foodservice operators, universities, culinary schools, and the media.
