Santa skated with children to holiday music Friday, Nov. 23, at Treadwell Arena, and Douglas 4th of July Committee paid for children under 12 to skate.
A wet rainy night brought 150 people to the 1106 Third Street Church lawn.

The Douglas Community Methodist Church furnished the tree and power source. Douglas Methodist Men furnished coffee, cider, hot chocolate and cookies inside and under a tent. Stroller White Pipe and Drum Band gave the crowd rousing music with their pipes and drums.

Reverend Imelda Ramos opened the event with an invocation. Douglas 4th of July President, Pat Peterson gave the welcome. Mayor Bruce Botelho turned on the 1200 lights and new star.

Girl Scout Troops 24 and 36 preformed The Night Before Christmas.

Both Girl Scouts and Pack 10 Boy Scouts sang carols.

After group singing, the Stroller White Pipe and Drum Band played more carols. People enjoyed the lights, music and refreshments.

Greg Smith and Treadwell Arena staff decorated the arena. Santa skated with children and to holiday music.

Douglas 4th of July Committee paid for children under 12 skating.

Thank you to Steve Baseden for hosting Skate with Santa.

The Douglas 4th of July Committee wishes you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
