Dancing
Winter Ball

The Winter Ball featuring Juneau's Thunder Mountain Big Band will be held from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Centennial Hall. Formal attire is encouraged, and the theme is Crystal Elegance. The dance is sponsored by Juneau International Folkdancers.

JIFs monthly ballroom dances are held in order to provide dancers with a family oriented, inexpensive venue where the priority is couples dance with the best music suitable for American ballroom and Latin dances. Also, an

effort is made to introduce talented local instructors and students by having free introductory lessons at each event. Instructors donate their time. The Winter Ball is a special event intended to provide an affordable, classy night out for everyone who wishes to dress up, listen to our Big Band, and dance. The next regular monthly dance with DJ music will be Dec. 22.

Instructors Pat Belec and Frank Bergstrom will provide a free foxtrot lesson at 7:30, and the band will play at 8 p.m. General admission is $10 at the door, students $5. For information call Eric: 209-8367.
