KETCHIKAN - Artists are invited to apply for Ketchikan's 24th annual Wearable Art Show: On the Rocks, to be held Feb. 4-6, 2010.
Applications are available at http://www.ketchikanarts.org/. The deadline for classroom projects is Friday, Dec. 18; for student artists under age 18, Monday, Jan. 11; and for adult artists, Monday, Jan. 18, 2010. All entries must be submitted at the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council, 330 Main Street. Artists will be limited to two pieces this year. Each piece can contain multiple models and multiple outfits, but should have just one musical number each. There will be an informal Wearable Art Show question and answer session from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Main Street Gallery. All are welcome.
Wearable Art Show Grants are now available for supply/classroom or travel - up to $150 to help you with that amazing creation. Get the application online at http://www.ketchikanarts.org/. Please be aware that grants are awarded based on need as well as merit, so you must have a thorough description of your intended piece, including drawings or images.
