Local artist creates wearable art inspired by nature

Inspired by nature's colors and textures, Norma Fleek began utilizing her artistic talents in stained glass. Later, she ventured into the art of twining baskets, blending many different textures of plants and fibers into unique designs. Recently she has turned her talents into creating wearable art in the form of jewelry. Her style highlights the use of blending colors and textures, using many different types of stones and gems to create one-of-a-kind designer pieces. Matching sets include watches, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Norma has dedicated her work to the early pioneers who, through imagination and dedication, settled in this great land. Her great grandparents ventured to Alaska in the late 1800's settling in Juneau and Gustavus.

She is the featured artist at Ad Lib for Gallery Walk from Dec. 1-3.
