The submission period is now open, and the final deadline is Jan. 15, for this year's Poetry OmniBus competition. Any Juneau resident, students in fifth grade and up, as well as adults, may submit poems for consideration. The poems must be short, no more than ten lines not counting the title. Specific details on how to submit, and forms for submittals that are by mail rather than email, may be found in the brochure reachable through the Web site of the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, specifically, at www.jahc.org/events.php.
Entries will be judged by published poets and writers, some of whom have been Alaska Writers Laureate. Winning poems will be placed on the inside of the Juneau Capital Transit System's buses. If you have questions, contact Ms. Robyn Holloway at PoetryOmniBus@hotmail.com.
