JUNEAU - The Capital City Rotaract club is raising money to put together baskets of food for needy Juneau families this holiday season. The club's goal is to collect enough money to create 200 dinner baskets that will be distributed as gifts so families can enjoy a complete Christmas dinner this year.
The food baskets will be donated directly to four community organizations - Salvation Army, Catholic Community Services, The Glory Hole and St. Vincent de Paul's - who will then distribute them to local families.
The Rotaract club has been soliciting donations from different community organizations and members. Rotaract will be assisting with the Capital City Weekly's photos with Santa event during Gallery walk on Dec. 5 from 4-8 p.m. at the CCW's office, located at 134 N. Franklin Street, and will be collecting donations at that time.
Capital City Rotaract is a service club for young professionals ages 18-30. For more information about Capital City Rotaract and this project, visit www.juneaurotaract.org.
