Susan J. Murray, senior director at Oceana Pacific, was recently awarded the National Blue Friend of the Year award for marine conservation.

JUNEAU - Susan J. Murray was presented with the National Blue Friend of the Year Award earlier this month at Loggerhead Marinelife Center's 3rd Annual Go Blue Awards Luncheon in Juno Beach, Fla. Murray was one of five recipients recognized for their contributions to marine conservation through work-related activities.
Murray is a senior director at Oceana Pacific, which utilizes science, law and the public to restore and protect the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Her team works with state and federal policy-makers, fishermen, local communities, scientists and conservation groups to develop comprehensive strategies to protect state and federal waters from non-sustainable fishing practices.
