Juneau receives program honors
The Alaska Municipal League awarded several of Alaska's communities Thursday evening during the 55th Annual Local Government Conference.

The City and Borough of Juneau also brought home two awards from the ceremony for the Living With Bears Program in the Good Ideas Category and for the Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Program that increased volunteer firefighters throughout the community.

Awards were given to communities that were nominated for outstanding service and implementation of creative, effective and overall beneficial community programs.

The Alaska Municipal League is a voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan, statewide organization of over 140 cities, boroughs and unified municipalities in Alaska, representing over 97 percent of Alaska's residents.
