Writers' Weir: Farmers Market (a fibonacci poem) by Amy Pinney

Eat

Fresh

Local

Quality

Connect with growers

Skipping chains and supermarkets

It’s organic, heirloom, and builds a community

Taste the vivid colors and savor for they are plucked from nearby rich and fertile soils

Farm

Picked

Flavor

Seasonal

Savor peak ripeness

Access to our agriculture

Saving seeds, the environment, and diversity

Healthy choices made up of crisp vegetables and juice-filled fruits in harvest season

Amy Pinney is a local master gardener who enjoys growing, buying, cooking and eating locally grown foods. She harvests from her garden, forest and sea. Juneau's August harvest fair at the community gardens and the JACC's farmer's markets are some of her family's favorite events. She hopes to someday enter her vegetables into the contests at the Juneau Harvest Fair and SE Alaska State Fair.
