This November JDHS Interact will be sleeping outside from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise awareness of the homeless students and families in Juneau. The money we raise will go to the Glory Hole Family Food Boxes and JDHS Homeless Student Support Services.
Last school year, the Juneau School District identified 201 students in transition who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Our homeless student support fund assists these identified students by providing them with lunch, academic supplies, and transportation to and from school.
Homelessness is a very prevalent issue in our community and through Interact we hope to benefit those in need. Because it is the 50th anniversary of Interact internationally, we have decided to raise our fundraising goals as well as try to make everyone as informed as possible, and we need your help.
To donate please visit the JDHS Interact website at jdhsinteract.weebly.com where you will find information on how you can contribute. Every donation will help and is much appreciated.
