Haines Bald Eagle Festival Schedule of Events

Wednesday, November 11

Photography workshop by Ron Horn, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet at ABEF for orientation followed by bus transportation to the preserve. Advance registration required.

Festival Registration, Diorama open for display viewing, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation Natural History Museum (ABEF).

Eagle Viewing, 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Meet at ABEF for orientation followed by bus transportation to the preserve.

Festival Welcome Dinner, 6-10 p.m. at the ABEF. Advance ticket purchase required. Includes wildlife presentation.

Thursday, November 12

Festival Registration, Diorama open for display viewing, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ABEF.

Photography Workshop, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bus departs ABEF lot at 9 a.m. Advance registration required.

Chilkat Valley Birds Evolutionary Changes, 9-10 a.m. at ABEF. With Tim Shields.

Eagle Viewing, 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Meet at ABEF for orientation followed by bus transportation to the preserve.

Live Bird Presentation, 11 a.m. to noon at ABEF. With Marianne Murphey and the Osprey from the southeastern USA.

Birds of the Yukon, 1-2 p.m. at ABEF. With Dave Mossup.

Fungi of the Valley, 2-3 p.m. at ABEF. With Judy Jacobson.

Live Bird Presentation by Bird TLC, 3-5 p.m. at ABEF.

Live Animal Presentation, 7-9 p.m. at ABEF. "The Wolverine" by Kroschel Films Wildlife Center.

Friday, November 13

Live Bird Presentation by Bird TLC, 9 a.m. to noon at ABEF.

Bald Eagle Release, 1:30 p.m. at the reserve. "Flight for Freedom" Bald Eagle Release Auction.

Bald Eagle Chocolate Extravaganza, 7-9 p.m. at ABEF.

Sunday, November 15

ABEF Open Viewing, 9 a.m. to noon at ABEF.

Early registration is encouraged. All proceeds go to covering the cost of the festival and to its educational programs.

One-day passes may be purchased for $35, $31.50 for seniors and $30 for students. Three-day passes may be purchased for $75, $60 for seniors, $55 for students. Five-day passes may be purchased for $125, $100 for seniors, $75 for students. Children under age 12 are free.
