Autumn concert to be performed this weekend
Juneau Student Symphony
The Juneau Student Symphony will perform its autumn concert "Marches, Song and Dance" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Dzantik'i Heeni commons area. A reception will follow both performances.

Admission is free and open to the public, and donations are gratefully accepted. Pieces include marches by Tchaikovsky and Bizet, songs by Rachmaninoff, Mendelsohnn, Mozart, Rossini, Puccini and Verdi, and dances by Grieg.

The Juneau Student Symphony is a community orchestra with joyful musicians of all ages from elementary school through adults. The orchestra performs three to five programs in Juneau each year and brings its music on the road for a tour once a year.

Besides regular season concerts, projects have included "King Island Christmas," a premier of a work by Juneau composer Stefan Hakenberg and joint performances with the Sitka Youth Symphony and the Anchorage Youth Symphony.
