Aluminum Chambered Boats was awarded a $9.88M contract in June to provide the United States Coast Guard with 47 rigid hull inflatable boats for their Cutter Boat-Large fleet. On Oct. 16, the first vessel passed USCG's stringent acceptance trials, which included such items as weight, range, and electrical requirements. The 24' CB-L has been shipped to New Jersey for 'final acceptance' by the end user and deployment on a 210' Coast Guard Cutter. ACB will now begin work on fulfilling the contract with the remaining 46 vessels. "I am proud of the ACB team for continuing to go above and beyond in designing and building state-of-the-art vessels. This is another step forward in demonstrating our ability to deliver on time, on budget, and on quality to our customers," said Tim Metz, president of ACB.
Aluminum Chambered Boats Inc. is an aluminum boat manufacturer headquartered in Bellingham, Wash. with an office and store in Ketchikan. ACB builds patented, rugged, state-of-the-art, high performance aluminum boats to government, recreational and commercial customers on a global basis.
