Season pass scholarship applications now available
The annual Hilary Lindh season pass scholarship is now available for the upcoming season. Each year the Eaglecrest Board of Directors awards two season passes to one boy and to one girl in kindergarten through 12th grade. Applications will be judged on scholastic achievement, competitive spirit and financial need.

Hilary Lindh scholarships will be available at schools, Foggy Mountain, Nugget Alaskan Outfitters, Sequence, Gravity Plan, Eaglecrest and the Eaglecrest Web site. Eligible scholarships will be taken up to the deadline of Friday, Nov. 30, at any of the places listed above. To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must be a resident of the City and Borough of Juneau, attend Juneau School District schools or equivalent, and have maintained a "C" average for the previous school year.

The Eaglecrest Board of Directors established this program in 1992 in recognition of Lindh's silver medal in the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics and of the hard work that she has dedicated to downhill ski racing. She started skiing in Juneau at an early age and won the U. S. and World Junior Championship in the downhill at age 16. She competed on the World Cup Circuit for 12 years, winning three World Cup downhills and raced in three Olympics. Lindh won the 1997 World Downhill Championship and retired in March of 1997. Last spring, she was inducted into the U. S. Ski Hall of Fame. Scholarship winners will be announced Friday, Dec. 7.
