Bluegrass gala, auction to benefit Perseverance Trail
A Bluegrass Gala and Auction to benefit Juneau's historic Perseverance Trail will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Centennial Hall.

The event is sponsored by Trail Mix, the nonprofit stewards of Juneau's world-class trail system.

The Perseverance Trail is one of the most popular trails in Juneau. Since 2007, Trail Mix has completed more than $700,000 of work, replacing rotting wood supports with a new trail built on solid rock.

The celebration will include dancing and live music with Bluegrass 101, barbecued ribs, pork, and chicken from the Spinnin' Pig, and a no-host bar provided by The Rendezvous.

In addition to exciting silent auction items, Senator Kim Elton will host a live outcry auction including travel packages, fine art, and even a ride to school aboard a Capital City Fire Rescue fire truck.

Tickets are on sale now at Hearthside Books, or by calling 790-6406.
