WISH holds fundraiser
The Women In Safe Homes Board of Directors holds its third annual Tux N' Tips Celebrity Server Competition at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Steamers Restaurant. Dinner includes prime rib and Arcadian prawns served by local celebrities Mayor Bob Weinstein, Mayor Joe Williams, KJ Harris, Sam Bergeron and Blanche Dilleshaw. The servers will compete for tips in order to raise money for the organization. Included in the evening's festivities are a membership drive, door prizes and musical entertainment. Formal attire is suggested.

Women In Safe Homes is a grassroots organization that promotes zero tolerance for violent crimes and advocates for victims' rights in Ketchikan and the rural communities of Southeast Alaska. The private, nonprofit agency provides direct services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Fundraising efforts allow WISH to continue providing services to the community.

Tickets are $50 per person and are available at Ketchikan Visitors Bureau, 131 Front Street and the Greater Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce, 111 Stedman Street. For information call 225-6166.
