Dancing
Ballroom Dance

A ballroom dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Centennial Hall. DJ music at the dance will be suitable for ballroom and Latin dances. The guest instructors this month will be Dan and Lorinda Kassner teaching rhumba. Admission is $5 and includes lesson. This dance is sponsored by JIF.

Call Eric for info: 209-8367. The next dance is the Winter Ball on Dec. 8, and is a formal event featuring Thunder Mountain Big Band.

Thursday Night Contra

The dance will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 1, at the Terry Miller Legislative Offices gymnasium (the Old Capital School gym). Use 6th St. entrance. Live music with Jerry Fiscus and Friends and dance caller Odette Foster. All dances taught and beginners welcome. No partners necessary. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. $3 donation. Sweet Second Saturdays

Dances will be held in Ketchikan the second Saturday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Schoenbar Commons. This month is an October Folk Dance, with contra, square, and circle dances. Donations of $5 will be accepted for those 16 and older.

Barn Dance

Held from 7:30-11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Ann's Parish Hall, located at Fifth and Gold Streets, with caller Tom Paul with The Canote Brothers. Contras and squares to old time tunes, with some swing dances and waltes in between. All dances are called and taught. Partner and experience aren't needed. $10 at the door.
