City, multiple agencies plan cruise ship drill
JUNEAU - The City of Ketchikan, Holland America Line, Customs and Border Protection, and Coast Guard Sector Juneau have begun planning to jointly sponsor a mass rescue exercise simulating a response to the evacuation of a cruise ship in Southeast Alaska.

The exercise will be held next year in Ketchikan on April 27 and 28. The ship will be simulated using data and plans from one of Holland America Line's ships, and experienced cruise specialists and local volunteers will help increase the realism.
