Health forum set for Oct. 29
The annual Women's Health Forum will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Juneau Centennial Hall.

This is a free public event open to all and includes a lunch of butternut squash soup and black bean quesadillas.

The forum theme this year is "Finding balance: The mind, body and spirit connection." Keynote speaker, Susan Hedlund, Director of Counseling at Cancer Care Resources of Portland, Oregon, will deliver a talk entitled "Awakening in Time: Women, depression and hope for healing." Workshop presenters include Hedlund on "Dealing with Depression and Cancer," Dr. Maureen Longworth who will discuss "Mood and the Hormones: Energy balancing techniques for PMS, menopause and other mood fluctuations"; and counselor Jamie McLean, who will present "Women and Depression: attending to the neglected self."
