Governor's debate to air November 2
Candidates for Alaska's hotly contested governor's race will face off Thursday, Nov. 2, in a final televised debate before the general election.

Debate for the State 2006 will feature Republican Sarah Palin, Democrat Tony Knowles and independent Andrew Halcro in a 90-minute forum beginning at 8 p.m.

Debate for the State 2006 is sponsored by the Anchorage Daily News and Alaska Public Television stations.

It will be televised statewide on Alaska One, ARCS and Gavel to Gavel.

It also will be broadcast on 26 Alaska Public Radio Network stations and webcast on the Internet at

The event will originate live before a studio audience at the KAKM Television studio in Anchorage.

State capital reporter Christopher Clark will moderate the debate.

He will be joined by Larry Persily, Anchorage Daily News editorial page editor, and Libby Casey of KUAC-FM and TV in Fairbanks.
