JUNEAU - The Juneau Lions Club is now seeking letters of interest from teams interested in participating in 2010 Gold Medal Basketball Tournament.
The 64th Annual invitational Gold Medal Basketball Tournament will be held March 21-27, 2010 at the Juneau-Douglas High School Gym, according to the Juneau Lions Club Board of Directors.
Divisions for the 2010 Tournament will be B, C, and Masters. Tournament co-chairs for 2010 are Juneau Lions Club Vice Presidents Lion Steve Bradner, Lion Doloresa Cadiente, and Lion John Skan.
Lions Club directors also approved changes to the age requirements for players in the C and Masters Divisions. Starting age for the C Division has changed from 32 years to 35 years. Starting age for the Masters Division has changed from 42 years to 45 years. To be eligible, players must be of age on the starting day of the tournament. There will be no "grandfather clause" on the age changes: players who previously played in these two divisions must meet the revised age requirements in order to play in that division during the 2010 Tournament.
The Juneau Lions Club is seeking and accepting letters of interest from all teams interested in participating in the 2010 Tournament. Any team that wishes to be considered for playing in the B Division, C Division, or Masters Division is asked to send a letter or an e-mail that states the community they represent and division they desire to play in. The Lions Club asks that separate letters of interest be sent for each division.
All letters of interest must be received by Nov. 30 so the Juneau Lions Club can offer official invitations by Dec. 15.
Send letters of interest to Juneau Lions Club, Attn: Invitations, P.O. Box 020911,Juneau, AK 99802.
Letters may also be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
