Southeast Conference thanks volunteers

A special Thank You to Prince of Wales Island, you really know how to throw a party.

Southeast Conference held its 52nd Annual Meeting on Prince of Wales Island in September, bringing 150 people to the Island for a record attendance of 250 people at our annual meeting. Planning local and thinking regional is so important to our scattered small communities and Southeast Conference is the organization that is always representing every community on a regional level. We want to thank Prince of Wales Island for everything they did to make our meeting a success. Without the cooperation of our communities we would never be able to accomplish what we do especially for our Annual get together. Our Scholarship auction netted a record breaking $26,000 and about 20 of the students from Island Schools attended our meeting. Thanks to the teachers for helping our students understand the importance of economic development in their lives and communities.

Special Thanks goes to:

Island Air Express, Klawock City School District, Susan Suarez, Ken Owen, Jeannie McFarland, Thorne Bay Business Association, POW Chamber of Commerce, POW Farmer's Market, Millie Schoonover, Ann James, Victoria Merritt, Brian Templin, Daniel Nelson, Joyce Mason, City of Craig Public Works staff, Jan Bush, Lynette Logan, The Nature Conservancy, Michael and Nora Kampnich, Connie Killips, AC Thompson House grocery store, Craig City School District, Sure Strike Charters, Heenya Kwaan Dancers, USDA Forest Service, Craig Ranger District, Clinton Cook, CTA Tribal President, City of Klawock, City of Thorne Bay, Naukati West, Inc., City of Kasaan, Organized Village of Kasaan, Hollis Community Council, Alaska Power and Telephone, Jenn Wagonner.
