New executive director joins Jazz and Classics
JUNEAU - Jeanne Pedersen is the new executive director of Juneau Jazz and Classics, Juneau's 23-year-old music festival.

Pedersen was born and raised in Los Angeles. She is an event manager and marketer who has most recently worked with Habitat for Humanity, where she produced the first Habitat Fest L.A. "Help Build It," an event which drew more than 5,000 attendees.

"We are thrilled to have an experienced event manager and marketer of Jeanne's caliber join us as we approach the 25th anniversary of bringing great live music to Juneau every spring," said Kathy Kolkhorst Ruddy, chair of the board.

Said Pedersen: "It is hard to believe that this opportunity was waiting for me, but at the same time it is so perfect to be working with this organization."

The dates for the 23rd Juneau Jazz and Classics are May 15 to 24, 2009. The schedule of concerts will be announced soon.
