Ketchikan family loses home, pets in Sunday fire
Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, Raffi and Mercy Kostanian lost their home, belongings and two of three family pets to a house fire in Ketchikan.

The Kostonians, along with their 7-week-old son, Francois, were able to escape with out harm as well as a small family dog. Another dog and family cat perished in the fire.

American Red Cross board member and volunteer Eric Bjella was on scene to assist with the immediate needs of the family.

The American Red Cross of Alaska is providing temporary shelter, food and clothing.
