Parks of Inspiration

Celebrate Alaska State Parks in Ketchikan. This juried art show will take place at the Mainstay Gallery from Oct. 5-26, and is free for Arts Council members and students, or $25 for non-members. Works submitted for this exhibit must be inspired by the Alaska State Parks of Ketchikan. Visit www.ketchikanarts.org for more information, including guidelines. Deadline to submit Friday, Sept. 28, by 5 p.m. at the Arts Council. First Place Prize is $75 cash, and Second Place Prizes are by category and in the amount of $50 each. Call 225-2211 for more info.

Free Museum Admission

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is pleased to offer free winter admission for a seventh season! Free Winter Admission is a process by-which an individual or organization sponsors the admission cost for a month during the winter season, October through April. Extended winter hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays - Saturdays, starting October 1st. The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is located at 4th and Main Streets in Juneau. Summer hours are 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
