Oldaker to chair United Way campaign
JUNEAU - Dr. Lawrence Lee Oldaker has been chosen as the United Way of Southeast Alaska campaign chair for 2008. He previously served on the United Way Board of Directors in 2002 when the annual campaign collected a record $552,603 throughout Southeast Alaska and was active on the steering committee for Leadership Juneau, a United Way of Southeast Alaska program to develop community leaders.

"United Way of Southeast Alaska is a respected nonprofit and makes a real impact on our community," Oldaker said. "I'm honored to be able to participate at this level."

Oldaker is a professor emeritus at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau where he served as chair of the school of education, graduate programs in educational leadership, education faculty and the faculty senate.

"I am delighted to work with Lawrence Lee again on the campaign and appreciate his enthusiasm and drive," said United Way Board Chair Michelle Casey. "He is a great asset to the United Way and the communities we serve. I am glad to see him back assisting us."
