The Fall 2005 Juneau Job Fair will be this Saturday, Sept. 24 in Juneau's Centennial Hall.

The Fair will be open 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. for prospective job seekers and others to meet more than two dozen local employers, organizations and government agencies.

The Juneau Job Fair is cosponsored by the Juneau Job Center and the Juneau Empire .

"This is not just a job fair, but a career fair, so it's open to trainers as well," Mary Rodman-Lopez from the Job Center said. The event includes employers throughout Southeast Alaska, she said.

"We're hoping for about 500 people to come through the doors. That's a pretty good number of people, not just looking for employment, but looking to change jobs."

Attendees should bring a resume, dress appropriately and be ready for an interview on the spot. At spring job fair, several people interviewed and actually hired on the spot, she said.

The Fair is intended as an opportunity for job seekers to meet, in a friendly, low-key, a number of area employers in one location. It also provides employers with a chance to meet and take applications from hundreds of qualified applicants in a single day.
