A contemplative flower arranging class will be held at The Canvas beginning on Sept. 20. The five-week series will focus on the Sogetsu School of study, which includes a 10-minute meditation at the beginning of each class.

"It provides an opportunity to slow down and focus," said MK MacNaughton, program developer at The Canvas. "You can carry that awareness with you through the rest of the day."

The group will be led by Annie Geselle and Teresa Busch. The cost is $175 which includes some materials. Additional materials may purchased from the Plant People or gathered in nature. For more information or to register, call 586-1750.
