Group revs up annual toy run

Every child treated at Bartlett Regional Hospital gets a toy courtesy of the Southeast Alaska Panhandlers Motorcycle Club.

The club's annual toy run begins Sunday, Sept. 17, with a motorcycle meet at Martinlini's parking lot at 1 p.m., the start of a ride through town with a stop at the Triangle Club to pick up toys deposited, then on to the barbeque at the Douglas Island Fire Station with a barbeque at 2 p.m. - $10 contribution for the barbeque or free for anyone who brings a toy.

Collection boxes are also sited at Bartlett Regional Hospital and Safeway.
