The window for members of the high school Class of 2012 to receive an Alaska Performance Scholarship has been extended to Dec. 14, 2012.
The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education will accept 2012-2013 Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSAs) for Alaska Performance Scholarship award consideration through December 15, 2012, contingent upon:
funding availability after awards are made to students who applied by the original June 30 deadline; and
the applicant having met all other Alaska Performance Scholarship academic eligibility requirements, including test scores, prior to July 2012.
See http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
During this window, the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development will continue to process school year 2011-2012 eligibility determination applications for private school graduates or privately home-schooled graduates of 2012 who met initial academic eligibility requirements.
See http://akadvantage.alaska.gov/Portals/0/Content/APS_Private%20School_Eligibility_Determination_Request.pdf.
Public school graduates of 2012 whose SAT or ACT scores were not received by their school by the original June 30 deadline to apply for an Alaska Performance Scholarship should submit their scores to their school, which will forward the student's updated record to the department.
