Intermittent hard rain and lots of drizzle Saturday, Sept. 8,didn't stop 50 or so people from enjoying themselves during the Juneau Duck Derby. Armed with hot dogs and other tasty treats, children and grown-ups alike intently watched the blue- and red-billed yellow ducks plucked by Eric Forst, president of the Glacier Valley Rotary Club, and Amy Mead for a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000, as well as a number of other prizes. The ticketproceeds will go to fund youth scholarships and Rotary Parkimprovements.
