Crew on the Fishing Vessel Angjenl haul in a halibut Sept. 3 in the Southeast Alaska waters of Stephens Passage. Halibut are bought by seafood companies at the dock for nearly $5 per pound. Halibut season closes Nov. 15 and reopens in March. Alaskan waters account for more than 70% of the world's yearly halibut catch.
