Whalen comes to UAS from Marquette, Michigan, where he was a teaching fellow and received his Masters of Fine Art (M.F.A.) in creative writing. UAS Ketchikan hires new faculty member

KETCHIKAN - Teague Whalen has been hired as UAS Ketchikan's new Assistant Professor of English and Communication. Whalen comes to UAS from Marquette, Michigan, where he was a teaching fellow and received his Masters of Fine Art (M.F.A.) in creative writing. He has taught English at North Central Michigan College and in the University of Michigan's New England Literature Program.

This semester Whalen will be teaching three sections of COMM 111, "Fundamentals of Oral Communication," online and is also a writing tutor in the campus Learning Center. In upcoming semesters, he will also teach composition, creative writing, and literature. Teague is also a performing singer/songwriter and guitar player; writes fiction, non-fiction and poetry; and is an avid outdoorsman.
