HAINES - Charlotte Cant, MD, has joined the medical staff at the SEARHC Haines Health Center.

Dr. Cant earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa. Her undergraduate studies took place at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where she graduated magna cum laude with a major in cultural anthropology and a minor in music.

She recently completed her residency through the Alaska Family Medicine Residency program in Anchorage, which is a program designed to train physicians to work in rural Alaska. She is board eligible with the American Board of Family Medicine, and recently took her board exams and is waiting for her scores.

"We are very happy to have Dr. Cant join us," said Marcia Scott, SEARHC Haines Health Center clinic administrator. "She was here previously completing a couple of residency rotations and she just fit right into our clinic. She has excellent skills, both in family practice and emergency care. We are glad she's here to stay."

"I'm looking forward to helping make Haines a healthier community," Cant said.
