JUNEAU - Jambaars Youth Soccer Academy will begin its fall classes Sept. 2, with classes help every Wednesday and Saturday through Oct. 10.
The six-week academy will provide age-appropriate instruction plus a game every week, while introducing children to fundamentals and advanced soccer techniques through fun sessions and small games. One of the goals of the academy is for the program to be affordable and open to kids of all backgrounds, especially those who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to learn how to play.
Jambaars Youth Soccer Academy was started last fall with the goal of providing positive and competitive soccer training to all youth of Juneau - and eventually all of Southeast Alaska.
The academy is open to girls and boys ages 5-15. Classes will be held Wednesdays 6-7 p.m. for U5-11 and 7-8:15 p.m. for U12-15; and Saturdays noon-1 p.m. for U5-11 and 1-2:15 p.m. for U12-15.
The academy costs $75 per player and takes place on the Juneau-Douglas High School turf.
