Nicki Germain, a Team Survivor Perseverance member, said the fund-raiser is for breast cancer awareness, and will feature pieces throughout the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum.
Registration for the show is $20, which benefits Team Survivor Perseverance, a non-profit group that provides fitness programs for cancer patients, survivors and family and friends. Art must be ready to hang and can be in any format and will be collected Sept. 22-23, at the Friends of the State Museum store on Seward Street.

Juneau resident Cathy Munoz will be a juror to judge pieces in five categories, which are mixed media, prints, photography, painting and sculpture.
"There seems to be quite a bit of interest. I'm aware of several people working on pieces," Germain said.
She said that along with the art, there will be information on local cancer support groups. Germain said she would like to see the art show be a forum for people to talk about the effects of cancer.
"It's a difficult subject for some people," Germain said.
"People who haven't been through it are a little guarded about it. We're hoping this a form that opens it up a bit. We're taking a fun approach."
