Valley Baptist Academy thanks the Mendenhall Flying Lions Club of Juneau for coming into our school last May and conducting screening on our students' eyes. The vision screening found about seven children who need to be referred to an eye care specialist. They screened children using a binocular infrared auto-refractometer called a PlusoptiXS04 that gave an estimate of the child's refractive error, eye alignment, and pupil size. Our preschool and Kindergarten children received a huge benefit from this volunteer service provided by the Lions Club, and the Academy is very appreciative.
