SITKA - The Sitka Cancer Survivors Society and Sitka Community Hospital's new diabetes program will benefit from the inaugural Sitka Women's Golf League Fundraiser.
This coed golf tournament takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Sea Mountain Golf Course. The nine-hole best-ball tournament with a shotgun start features a $25,000 hole-in-one prize and a silent auction after the event. The tourney fee is $70, with lunch provided (lunch only costs $20). Teams or individuals are invited to play, and beginners are welcome.
Several community partners are helping sponsor this event. They include the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Diabetes Program, Sitka Community Hospital, Alaska Ocean View Bed and Breakfast Inn, the F/V Coralee, Kelly's Sports Pub, Martin Enterprises (in memory of Sandy Jones), SeaMart, Southeast Fire Protection, The Sporting Look, White's Pharmacy, Artist Cove, Ben Franklin, Brian Bergman, Stan Filler Jr., Homeskillet, Ashia Lane, New Start Aquarium and Birds, Joan Rada, Re/Max of Sitka, Sitka Medical Center, the Daily Sitka Sentinel, Specs in the City, Spenard Builders Supply, The Fisherman's Eye, Therapeutic Massage, Three Guys by the Church, Waddell and Reed, and Westmark Sitka.
