Crime of the week
On July 29, at approximately 1 p.m., The Juneau Police Department received a report of an assault that took place during the night. In essence, a 16-year- old female was walking home alone in the Lemon Creek area when she saw a male near the intersection of Glacier Hwy and Alaway Ave. The male followed the female to Montgomery St and attacked her by throwing her to the ground. The victim screamed for help and when residents in the area went to see what was occurring the suspect fled the area on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries in the form of bruising and redness.

The suspect was described as an Alaskan Native male, approximately 20-years-old, with no facial hair, long black hair, wearing a dark hooded jacket and blue jeans. The suspect was described as having an abnormally wide thick neck.
